Today Dave and I checked out a nearby Tibetan restaurant (OM, 4382 St Laurent) that we had always been meaning to try. Actually, we had been there before during a sidewalk sale, but only to drink their cheap drinks, so it was high time we tried their food.
I had the day off, so I decided to take advantage of trying one of the lunch specials. And special it was! Dave and I both had momo plates, which at first seemed expensive at $7.95 each, but we quickly realized what a good deal it was! These dumplings were HUGE! Three beef, three veggie and two cheese, with a salad in the middle and a soup to start. The soup was so-so in my opinion (I had the chicken, which was just too greasy to be good), but the dumplings more than made up for a not so great soup.
We were so full by the time we finished! As the waitress was picking up our plates she mentioned that the momos are excellent reheated . . . I guess we'll have to keep that in mind for next time.
I could definitely see us stopping in here during a sidewalk sale, for a couple of cheap and cold beers, and a plate of momos to share.
